V: "There is No Normal Anymore"

If you haven’t seen the pilot episode of V, I suggest doing that right now.  Seriously, stop reading and start watching.  This is my second favorite new series of this year (nothing is going to beat Glee in quality, excitement, or heart) and it is chock full of paranoia, action, hot chicks/dudes, and aliens (!).

First, this show is not dumb.  It’s not only smart, but it thinks its audience is smart too.  That is absolutely refreshing in a network series right now, since most writers seem to have forgotten that audiences need genuine intrigue and plot (*hem* Heroes *hem*).  Well, V has that in spades.  So far, the show has built its mythology consistently and at a pleasant speed, not so slow it gets dull and not so fast it leaves anyone behind.

This show is still an infant, and I hate hate HATE spoilers, so I won’t give away a single one, but I will say it’s completely worth your time.  Well, I will spill a few tidbits: there is a magic murder ball and a terrifying torture chamber, what more could a tv viewer ask for?  V has fantastic casting (except for the main character’s son….) and the promise of spy themed future episodes to compliment the obvious science fiction main plot.  I’ve been loving this show and cannot recommend it enough!
